Slim illustrated softcovers. 8vo. 90pp. Two colour plates, rest of illustrations in black and white; bright yellow endpapers printed with butterfly motif; Paul Wengraf wood engraved book plate; white softcovers browned to spine; a bit grubby to edges; interior clean and unmarked; a good copy with interesting art world connection. Paul Wengraf (1894-1978) was a notable art dealer and art historian. He was born in Vienna and was friends with Egon Schiele. Schiele created a "Portrait of Art Dealer Paul Wengraf as a Young Man" in 1917, one year before he died. After settling in London, Wengraf authored and co-authored a number of art historical books. His bookplate is a striking wood engraving featuring a woman, mythical creatures and animals. Seller Inventory # 10677
