L'Année terrible, Victor Hugo, Illustrations de L. Flameng et D. Vierge, Michel Levy Freres, Paris, 1874, 280 pp, 87 pp, half leather, 11.25 x 8 , large 8vo. In fair condition. Moderate wear to extremities with scuffing to boards, loss of marbling at corners and edges. Front board has faded significantly with old glue residue on rear board. Front board slightly concave from improper storage. Joints scuffed with dryness. Spine abraded, but intact. Marbled front fly leaf is torn out/chipped. Second fly leaf torn at top right corner with loss. Light dampness staining to top edge of gutters. Spotted foxing, heavy at times throughout text. Free of known markings or ownership. Generally age-toned along edges. Binding intact. Please see photos. A beautifully illustrated French language of L'Année terrible. With full-page black and white illustrations by L. Flameng and D.
