Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. First edition and printing. In good mauve cloth boards with gilt titles and heads of monarchs to front. 4to size. The covers are sunned around all edges; collapsed hollow and a little loose; spine ends bumped. Unmarked pale blue end papers. Slightly tanned cut edges. The text block is in very good condition - especially for age - with firm pages, straight and clean (not tanned or foxed). With numerous sepia photos. Not annotated and without dedications. Overall condition is good due to covers. In very good purple dust jacket with clear (cellophane) circle in centre showing the titles and heads of monarchs from the boards.
