This is an antique biography of "KATE GREENAWAY" by M.H. Spielmann and G.S. Layard. 1905 2nd printing; Adam and Charles Black; London. Also included is an original Kate Greenaway color wallpaper swatch. The book is richly illustrated with numerous color plates (with descriptive tissue guards) and black & white drawings. There is a list of books illustrated by Greenaway, an Index, and four pages of publisher's advertisements at the back. Condition: There is a small, light stain near the center of the front cover. The blue cloth has faded along the spine, and along the right edge of the back cover. Tiny cloth tear at the bottom-right front cover corner. The pages are mostly clean with only some occasional mild foxing (though a bit heavier on the front end papers and half title page). A large bookplate has been affixed to the front end paper. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition. The Greenaway wallpaper swatch has a 3" tear at the bottom edge, and a light stain at the right edge. Seller Inventory # ABE-1724977040998
