Condition: VG. London 1894. first edition. George Routledge. Hardcover. Full-color pictorial paper-covered stiff cardboard with original cloth spine. 4 x 3 inches. 18 fullpage color illustrations by author. 38 pages plus cover. VG, one small ink stain on front cover, light wear. Text clean except for a very few tiny ink lines, most in margin and each about 1/8th inch long made very neatly by a previous owner. FIRST EDITION [Schuster & Engen 14 (12b)]. 48mo - 4" x 3". AEG. Original cream-colored imitation morocco covered boards; front cover with title and picture of a girl holding her skirt full of flowers stamped in gilt; both covers with a blue stamped decorative border; slight touches of wear to the tail of spine and a small abrasion measuring 1/8" x 1/4" to the lower edge of the back cover for what is a nice copy of the book. Dark blue endpapers. [36] pp. The almanac is illustrated by Greenaway with a full page full color frontispiece, full color title page vignette and sixteen full page full color drawings, one for each of the twelve months and one for each of the four seasons; engraved and printed by Edmund Evans; slight darkening and scattered spotting to preliminaries plus a tiny, unobtrusive dark stain, measuring approximately 1/16" x 5/16", at the bottom edge of each page close to the gutter.
