With a section of publisher's adverts at rear of second volume, frontispiece portrait and two colour maps (one folding), plus 30 sketches after the author on the letterpress. The much scarcer issue in two volumes, the book normally being seen in one with the same pagination, but here with additional publisher's title (& half-title) for the second volume. This copy with the engraved armorial bookplate of Boyd Alexander, African traveller & writer, in Vol. II.
