First edition hardback, 1908, with no jacket. In overall very good condition: original illustrated boards are quite tanned to spine, with slight wear to edges and corners. Binding tight and hinges strong - slight crack to gutter at half title page; no annotations or inscriptions; the usual minor age-spotting to prelims, page-ends and some pages, text and beautiful plates clean and clear throughout. The plates are particulalry good and retain their tissue-paper protectors - the plate and protector for Lady Teazle at p96 are just beginning to pull out of the binding at the top end.
