440 pp., quarter dark green leather with patterned green and black paper sides, sm 8vo, sl wear to spine but pretty good for age, patterned eps, a famous French novel of valet Jacques and his master who discuss love affairs interspersed with comedy. Many other characters interrupt, it seems the Germans were more impressed with the book than the French. Jacques determinism fully discussed. This is a rare early leather edition. Size: Sm 8vo.
