English edition of book published by Scribner in New York in 1906. Boards have bumped and rubbed corners, wear to the spine and a small hole in the spine cover itself. Boards also dirty through handling. Endpapers are a smooth marble effect paper, a prize label (Mar 1911) inside the front cover. Tissue guard to the fronitis is browned. Frontis and 23 other b/w plates as inserts with another 50 full or part page in text illustrations. Top edge smooth and dusty, other edges untrimmed and well fingered.
