About this Item
A one page government document hand written in Italian/Corsican in the 9th Year of the Republic, regarding sanitary rules in Bologna during the French occupation, under the Cisalpina Republic. Cisalpina Republic was a sister republic of France in northern Italy until 1802. Written on illustrated engraved letterhead with a young Marianne, the French Goddess of Liberty standing and holding a spear with Phrygian cap on top and a Fasces near her knee. 7 3/4 x 11", 4pp folded, original fold lines, wax seal mark still visible. One small hole back page partially affecting address. Slt. fox spotting, otherwise vgc. Seller Inventory # 25844
