2005 second edition, The Lummi Island Conservancy (Lummi Island, Washington), 6 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches tall spiral bound in color printed covers, copiously illustrated with black-and-white drawings by Meredith Moench, vi, 142 pp. Very slight soiling and rubbing to covers. Otherwise, a very good to near fine copy - clean, bright and uinmarked - of this rare local natural history. OCLC (No. 1322230839) locates only two copies at collections worldwide. ~ZZ~ [1.5P] Written by local residents, a collection of essays about the natural riches of Lummi Island, which lies at the southwest corner of Whatcom County, Washington, between the mainland part of the county and offshore San Juan County. The essays originally appeared as a series in The Tome, the island newsletter, under the heading Isleward, a project of the Lummi Island Conservancy, which began as a working group for the protection of peregrine falcon habitat on Lummi Mountain.
