About this Item
An original document: a deed transferring land in Granger Twp., County of Medina, State of Ohio from Van Orman to John Hatch dated May 30, 1840. A single sheet measuring 10 in. x 15 ¼ in. It is a printed form, with blank spaces for names, dates, descriptions of the land, etc; in other words, a Nineteenth Century 'legal blank.' The blanks have been filled in by hand; there is writing on both sides. The document was folded once horizontally in the center, then twice vertically. There are a few small holes along some of the creases. Age-related spotting. A piece of history, showing how things were done before printers and before typewriters. Considering its age, it is in excellent condition. If it were a book, I would call it 'Very Good.'. Seller Inventory # ABE-15948857304
