Odd volume ( containing books 13 - 24 ) of Pope's translation of Homer Greek epic which first appeared between 1715 - 1720. Published by subscription it was a hugh seccess for both Pope & Lintot. Samuel Johnson declared that it was 'a performance which no age or nation could hope to equal', Richard Bentley was more critical, stating 'It is a pretty poem, Mr. Pope, but you must not call it Homer'. 200 grams.
