Touches of surface loss at softened spine ends and at tips of corners; light rubbing along edges and to rear cloth, touches of rubbing to hinges; central front panel and backstrip clean and sharp with remarkably strong stamping. 2 1/2" surface tear to front pastedown at upper gutter with no effect on strong, square binding and hinges. Tears (longest 1") to upper edge pre-title page and lower corners title and contents page at lower end; 2" tear to upper title page along gutter; page holding well but somewhat delicate. Strong toning to margins of pulpy pages with moderate toning to central text. Pages somewhat stiff. Prev. owners' names/info in nic hands front endpapers.
