Volume 1 is a detailed study of Tiger imagery in China. Volume 2 is a collection of 2000 folk images collected by the author, from paper cuts, to textiles, to paintings, to ceramics. Hansheng Magazine was an award winning project, dedicated to highlighting a specific aspect of Chinese cultural arts with each issue. It was founded in 1971 as the English magazine ECHO before shifting towards the Chinese-speaking audience, and was focused on preserving folk art, research, and high production values.
