Small 8vo., 16pp.,with a tipped in envelope, stamped & addressed to Messrs. G. Simpson & Co. 33 Whitechapel Road, containing a receipt from Buck & Hickman also of Whitechapel Road, in original blue paper wraps with text to inside front cover and adverts. to inside & out of rear cover, with an illustration of a horse to centre of front cover, wraps worn & frayed to extremeties, however sound & very good. Genuinely scarce although purporting to be a new & improved edition. J. W. Savill, Bookseller and Medicine Vendor of Dunmow, Essex. The advertisement commences on the verso of the title page "It was on the 4th of May, 1865, that I first published this little work" . and concludes . "I thank my numerous correspondents . for many favours during the past 13 years . " which would indicate a date of circa 1878 for this new & improved edition. Worldcat locates only the BL copy but date of 1866 with J. Wright of Dunmow and Dowman, W. as authors and J.W. Savill, Dunmow as publisher with the date 1866, described as 'Second Thousand'. This would suggest that J. W. Savill 'pirated' this edition & was responsible only for the advertisements, which were of financial gain to him personally. No copy traced of this edition.
