FIRST EDITION IN ENGLISH of Hahnemann's Organon, translated from the 4th German edition (Organon der Heilkunst, 1829). This English translation is the first book in English on homoeopathy (the only previous publication in English is a pamphlet of 24 pp by H. B. Gram, published in New York in 1825). The first American edition of Hahnemann's Organon, published in 1836 in Allentown PA, is primarily a reprint of this 1833 English translation, with some additions from 5th German edition (1833). The first British edition of Hahnemann's Organon, published in London in 1849, was a new English translation by R. E. Dudgeon, from the 5th German edition.
