This 9.00 x 11.25, 384 page book is an assumed first edition although there is no statement as such. This is the 1964 edition published by American Heritage and distributed by Simon & Schuster. The book is in near fine condition with the maroon cloth cover in beautiful condition. The gilt lettering on the spine is bright and as new. The back cloth shows two very small white spots but aside from a previous owner's bookplate and a penciled notation on the ffep the book is certainly in near fine condition. The book is striking in its presentation of the world war that raged across Europe from 1914 - 1918. The photographs, illustrations, and maps are the primary feature of this book. The dust wrapper is in very good condition although there is some age-wear showing with some very modest chipping and creasing to the top edge and the front fore-edge. Although the condition and desire for this book suggests a higher price, we wish to offer it at a lower cost and offer it as an honest bargain to today's collector. 384 pages.
