About this Item
2nd ed. revised and altered. Ex-library with the usual stamps, stickers, pockets and markings. In general the set is in very good condition apart from vol. 1 which has borne the brunt of usage over the years and is only fair to good on account of having been fairly intrusively annotated (and with underlining) in pen and having had at least two repair jobs performed on it - one adequate and the other less so (green tape to the outer edges of the boards). All volumes have the original publisher's dark red boards with black titling to the front but gilt titling to the spines which are a little sunned. The endpapers tend to be a little foxed but the contents not so. The binding is still good. Vol. 1 244 + 24pp. ads; Vol. 2 586pp.; Vol. 3 309 + 1 + 24pp. ads; Vol. 4 465pp. The library and previous owner markings are all to the half-title pages and the title pages of the four volumes are unmarked. This is still a robust, serviceable set. The set weighs 3.1kg. Seller Inventory # 000679
