About this Item
Second edition, fronstispiece (Coast View of Brighthelmston 1743), Preface & Index, 265pp, 4 plates (out of 5 called for), blue cloth bevel edges board with gilt titles and decorations. The contents are in very good condition, the hinges are starting. The boards are a little rubbed and the top & bottom of the spine, which is dulled, are frayed. Although the index calls for 5 plates, the one of Phoebe Hessel is not present and there are no signs that it was ever there (the plates are tipped in and are not part of the gatherings) so perhaps it was omitted in the second edition?.
