Rubbed, scored, soiled and bumped black boards with gilt medal on front; the spine, lettered in gilt, rubbed on hinges with 40% of rear hinge detached. Internally front free endpaper absent and name and address in pencil on front pastedown; a mess menu glued across (split) gutter onto front board and half title (glue residue on reverse side). Title page marred by finger marks which appear intermittently thereafter though pages 50/51 badly stained. 'Notes' page at rear browned and semi-detached. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
