In July 1919 at a public meeting in Hatfield a decision was taken to produce a book recording the men from the town who fought and died in the Great War, in order to give copies of the book to the families of the soldiers who were killed, as well as to those who survived the conflict. Set out in A to Z format. This has the name of Lance-Corporal Alexander Gow of 1/1st Hertfordshire Yeomanry on the front cover. // This is a 'leather-bound' 1st edition hardback in good condition-the leather of the cover is a little rubbed.
