Miles of the United States Army. Fascinating account of the Spanish-American War of 1898 with articles by war correspondents and contributors like F.D. Millet, Frederick Remington, James Burton, J. A. Cahill, J. C. Freemont, Arthur Dutton, Henry Starr Richardson and many others. Profusely illustrated with color and b/w reproductions of lithographs, paintings & drawings by various artists such as William Thorne, J. A. Cahill, Harry Fenn, F. Remington, Max F. Klepper, Manuel Antonio Martinez plus many others. Includes color maps as well as b/w reproductions of photographs. With official accounts of campaigns, battles, Naval actions and bombardments. "Harper's Pictorial History of the War with Spain will contain handsome reproductions of rare old paintings and engravings, illustrating the colonial history of Spain; numerous double-page drawings; many handsome lithographs in colors; several hundred full-page and half-page drawings and engravings; battle scenes; maps; plans of battles; portraits of distinguished naval and military heroes, statesmen, and leaders of the war."
