Extremities a little worn, but otherwise a very good copy. Illustrated by 8 black and white photographic plates, including portrait frontispiece. Decorated by publisher's device on title page. The second volume (out of five, published 1953-72), of the life of Henry James, by Leon Edel (1907-97), US/Canadian literary critic and biographer who was the foremost scholar on the life and works of the author.
