About this Item
A Gypsy Against Her Will, or Worth Her Weight in Gold, by Emma Leslie, published by Blackie and Son Limited, London, early 1900s. 128 pages. The book is not dated, but there is an inscription dated to 1912. Red cloth hardcover volume with printed illustration and lettering on cover and spine. There is minor wear on cover, mostly rubbing and general fading due to old age of the book. There is an ink inscription on inside cover, stating that the book was presented to Olive Weston as a reward from the Wesleyan Sunday School, Etchingham, Christmas 1912. There is moderate foxing on end papers and title page, as well as a small mended tear on top of illustrated page that's opposite the title page. There is no writing in the book aside from the inscription. The book has a slight forward tilt, and there are several areas where the book opens to, where pages "part" from the spine. No missing pages. Occasional light staining in the margins, possibly due to fingerprints. Please see photos to confirm condition. The book would make a wonderful conversation piece.
