Green cloth w/orange lettering. Shelfwear head and heel of spine, small tear on one side of gutter. Corners bumped. Corners are rubbed to boards. Text is clean, evenly tanned. Small piece torn out of middle outside margin of pg. 17. Card slot to rear pastedown, stamp to reverse of rear endpaper and lower outside edge. Hinge to mesh at rear cover. Newspaper clipping taped to inside cover reads: "Am asked what became of the aimiable Armenian author, Michael Arlen. He is living a life of leisure on the money aquired from his literary efforts. Especially that made from the novel titled The Green Hat. Recently Mr. Arlen was asked if he planned to write anything more. Said he most emphatically, "Never again. I hate writing and always did.".
