Selections from the diary & letters of Marie Benjamin Merrill, made by Elizabeth Ring Mather, privately published, and distributed as a Christmas gift in 1934. No printer's name, or limitation statement is present. Scarce item. The editor's foreword: "These few pages are copied precisely with the lettering, spelling and punctuation transcribed from the original diary and letters which are the property of the heirs of Marie Benjamin. In so doing, I have hoped to bring us back into the atmosphere and setting of two phases of her life,-her school days in Maine and her early married life in Michigan-which paint their own picture of a vivid personality and may bring us nearer to the grandmother whom we never knew.
