Kegan Paul,Trench,Trubner & Co. 1895 hardback. pp215.Gilt decoration to front board.A well loved book showing considerable rubbing/bumping to corners and spine.Boards quite rubbed and with some staining.Prize nameplate to inner front board from Leicester School of Art to Albert Herbert 1898 for a national art competition.Possibly a relative of yet to be born artist Albert Herbert 1925-2006.A grangerised copy with topical newspaper cuttings(Hampton Court Maze,Easton Lodge etc)pasted to endpapers.Also fine pencil drawings of garden designs to endpapers.Tanning to endpapers.Foxing to title page.Pages in general clean and bright.9 plates including frontis.Frontis is loose but in good order.Internal cracking.4 pages creased at corner.A very good example of a rare book in fair condition.
