xiii+epigraph+347; oc. incipient gutter openings, none serious but textblock slightly shaken, otherwise internally clean, tight and quite unmarked, covers clean with just a few rubs to joints and extrems. A slipped in clipped flier for a book or lecture on the author by Grainne Anthony. Her dates were 1880-1919 and she was a 'friend and disciple' of Florence Nightingale whose conception of nursing she ardently advocated throughout her short but highly successful and innovative career. She was on the anti-registration side in the long-running controversy over nurse-registratyion (as was Nightingale). Size: 13 cm x 19.5 cm. Seller Inventory # 011506
