This is one of a series of twelve friezes with wild and tame animals, one dated 1578. Abraham de Bruyn, engraver and publisher, born in Antwerp, where he was active from 1565, but often moved. 1570 in Breda, c. 1576-1578 in Cologne, 1580 in Antwerp and again after 1585 in Cologne where he died. He did much work for Plantin. - Trimmed to border line, a few very tiny damages. Good impression of this beautiful and rare engraving; under glass in mahogany frame.[(5897)]. Seller Inventory # 5897
