1836. Edition not stated but apparently a reprint of a work first published in 1833 under the title of "Frank Orby - A Novel by 'One of the Eleven'. The author is not stated in the edition for sale but we believe it to be Colonel Wilkie. This edition was published in three volumes but only volumes 1 and 2 are present (lacking volume 3). 319pp in both volumes. The books are bound in the original publisher's grey-brown paper covered boards with a brown cloth spine and a paper label. The cases of the books are in good condition with some expected signs of their age and nature. There is shelf wear with some soiling and staining on the boards; bumping to the corners with a little damage and loss to the paper around the corner tips; and some dents on the edges of the boards. The spine ends are bumped with a little damage to the cloth and the spine erdges are rubbed with a split of about 1/2" in the cloth on the rear spine edge of volume 1. Small pieces are missing from the edges of the title labels. The contents are tight and clean apart from a few small marks and foxing on the endpapers. There is some scattered light foxing elsewhere within the books apart from pages 75 to 101 of volume 1 whiuch are a bit more heavily affected. There is a bookplate on the front fixed endpaper of both volumes. Seller Inventory # Net0858
