The first three volumes of Parkman's epic 8 vol. work on France and England in North America. Bound in uniform green half-leather with marbled paper, spine with 5 raised bands, gold gilt lettering and design, teg. Vol. 1: Pioneers of France in the New World, xxii+427pp, stated 7th edition. Vol. 2: The Jesuits in North America during the Seventeenth Century, lxxxix+ 463pp, stated 4th Edition. Vol. 3: The Discovery of the Great West, xxi+425pp, stated 3rd Edition. All 3 volumes in similar condition, spines nice and clean, slight wear to top of spine leather. Small wear spots to hinges at the binding ropes (see photos). Cover fore and bottom edges show wear, some spots worn through. Internally, bindings are tight and strong, pages bright and clean throughout with uniform light toning to most page edges, occasional slight offsetting from maps. All plates and maps intact and clean. A very nice, solid early printing of Parkman classics. See attached photos. All of our books are individually inspected and described.
