Helen Clark MacInnes (1907?1985) was a Scottish-American author of espionage novels. MacInnes published her first novel during World War II, and her early novels are all based in that setting. Later she wrote more about characters within the context of the Cold War. Many of MacInnes? novels are continuing to be renewed for print, cementing her legacy as one of the trailblazing female international affairs novelists in the World War II and Cold War eras. Each of the 4 novels were international best-sellers. 2 were made into films. All are Fawcett Crest Books, which means contents complete and unabridged, also the 1st time published in this form (ie as Mass Market Paperbacks). Made into a 1972 20th Century-Fox movie starring Barry Newman, Anna Karina and Karen Jenson. 384pp. Set of 4 mass market paperbacks housed in a slip case. Paperback covers are complete although with creases and tears stabilized with tape. There are sticker scars on spines and reading creases in spines. Slipcase is complete with top edge having been taped. Shows shelfwear and handling. Interiors are complete and unmarked, but glue binding has dried so loose pages and loose sections exist.
