About this Item
Kentfield, California. Newton. K. Gregg. 1971. Quarto (12 x 9 1/2). Limited Edition. One of 350 copies published. 153 pp. plus 15 plates of fish; six of which are beautifully hand colored. The plates were printed by The Meriden Gravure Company. The Coris Frerei, water colored primarily in shades of purple and green, is especially attractive. Introduction by George Sprague Myers. Foreword by Albert E. Gunther. This is a large, beautiful book, reprinting the rare first edition of 100 copies published in 1867. The Introduction by the late Professor Myers is excellent, placing the book in historical context with other famous ichthyological works published between the years 1820 and 1870. The book is bound in blue cloth with gilt titles on the spine. A fine book still in the original shrink wrap and shipping box. Seller Inventory # 011060

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required. My chosen shipping option is the U. S. Postal Service. USPS is the best in terms of service and cost efficiency ¿ even though recent overseas rates, effective January 2013, have skyrocketed. USPS requires mails sent overseas and Canada can ONLY be sent by AIRMAIL. Charged at actual cost. Other overseas shipping options are available, such as UPS, FedEx, DHL, etc.; however, they are frightfully expensive.
