William Lyon MacKenzie was no inconsiderable figure of fun. He was an able editor, reporter and pamphleteer. The author writes of this fiery man who regularly attacked Toronto " like a sort of deranged Yankee Doodle." He also became Toronto's first mayor when it became a city. But he was complex, a political editor, the shrewd recorder of his times. Affectionate husband and father, the gadfly of the Assembly. Bookseller Inventory # 000069
