Quarter-bound in green leather with marbled paper over boards. marbled end-papers. The covers and spines show heavy wear; much of the leather on the spine has worn away. The front hinge of Vol. I has cracked. The stamp of a library is found in the prelims and last blank pages, as well as on the front of every image/plate. Both volumes also are stamped sold by the library. All the plates are present and the text is clean and unmarked. Loosely inserted is a typed excerpt about Eaton from the Dictionary of American Biography. An American pictorial botanical work that is well worthy of restoration. The weight of the set is 12 ½ lbs.
