A translation of Fascinee par Dieu l'Aventure Spirituelle d'une Hippie. 'This is the story - rather the spiritual adventure - of a girl who lived most of her life as a hippie and died in 1979, aged 32. The last three years of her life were spent as a Carmelite nin in India. 'Odyssey' might be a very evocative term to describe her life: like Ulysses of old, she wandered from place to place until she finally reached her 'island home' - for her, a haven of peace. Peace came slowly and with some reluctance to her. . Her life, despite its vagaries, was an intense seeking after God, as she gradually became aware of the certain reality, even the terror, of God's presence. This she sought right up to her death. We should be grateful to the authors (original French) and the translator for providing this little biography. It witnesses to God's love and care for people who, like Sister Frances, are really in search of God, without, perhaps, being conscious of the fact.' - from the Preface by Fr. Michael Buckley.
