Slightly cocked otherwise a very collectable copy of a surprisingly scarce book in collectible condition. Jessie Benton Fremont was forced to write for a living after her husband's losses of three seperate fortunes ; gold from the gold rush, his land grant in the sierra foot hills and money raised for the failed continental railroad.
