Intermittent foxing in text especially in vicinity of maps. Front hinge cracked. Previous owner's signature 'Hugh Dawnay' March 1906 on ffep. Major Hon Hugh Dawnay was the son of Viscount Downe. He was killed in action in the first Battle of Ypres on 6 November 1914. He was decorated with the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)
