About this Item
27 x 21 cm. .Contains 6 Newnes published articles and clearly was put together as a propaganda issue when Kitchener was still running the War Office in 1916. No date in book and first two essays on Kitchener and Roberts no author stated. The four remaining essays on Scottish regiments, Canadian forces, Australian and South African Forces, and Indian Forces are by Edgar Wallace, Roger Pocock, A.B. Cooper and Saint Nihal Singh. Every page illustrated.Could not be more Imperial if it tried. The book is over one kilo but the extra postage has been included in the book price. The cover has been repaired quite recently and there is some damage to the edges of the first few pages at top right. Cover has pasted on close-up profile of Kitchener. All printed matter is there and no loose or missing pages. Red spine is faded but intact with clear title in black.Considering that this item is almost one hundred years old and it was produced for mass circulation/distribution it is a more than fair copy. I suspect this is a First Edition but cannot be certain. Seller Inventory # ABE-11733709051
