2 parties en 1 vol. in-12 de xliv, 159 pp. ; [iv], 274pp. Maroquin rouge, filets dorés en encadrement des plats avec fleurons en écoinçons, dos lisse orné, pièce de titre, coupes filetées, roulette intérieure dorée, tranches dorées (reliure de l?époque). Réimpression de cette célèbre version des Fables donnée par Pierre Coste qui parut initialement en 1743 (voir numéro précédent). Elle est ornée de 14 petites vignettes naïves gravées en en-tête dont certaines sont signées Caron.Pierre Coste (1668 - 1747) trouva refuge en Angleterre après la révocation de l?Edit de Nantes et tint un rôle important dans la diffusion de la littérature française outre-Manche (voir à ce propos Jean Delisle, Portraits de traducteurs). Al termine del volume (A Paris: de l'imprimerie de Prault pere, quai de Gêvres, au Paradis, 1742). Strappi e mancanze al margine bianco di alcune pagine (quattro) senza perdita di testo. Una gora al margine bianco di alcune pagine alla prima parte. Legatura coeva in piena pelle, in cattive condizioni (usure ed erosioni, mancanza ad un angolo del piatto posteriore, senza tassello di titolo al dorso, con mancanze). Die Seitenzählung ist aber durchlaufend. Am Schluß ein Inhaltsverzeichnis für alle 12 Bücher. Vignetten auf Titelblatt sowie bei den Kapitelüberschriften bzw. den Büchern. Erhaltung: Auf dem Titelvorblatt ein Namenseintrag mit Tinte (Fr. Reibnitz). Die Deckel sind abgegriffen und an den Ecken bestossen bzw. dadurch gerundet. Am Rücken fehlt oben und unten ein Sück vom Bezug. Innen ist alles sauber, fleckenlos und ohne weitere Eintragungen. Deshalb insgesamt noch ein gutes Exemplar, trotz der deutlichen Mängel am Einband.
