Bound in original quarter red morocco, over blue cloth, gilt; spine in compartments with raised bands, decorated gilt, with contrasting black morocco title label, gilt. Deckled edges. Extremities a little worn. Some foxing, largely confined to edges. Ownership inscription on first free endpaper. Illustrated with 8 plates by Harrington Bird (1846-1936) including coloured tipped in frontispiece. Attractively bound copy of a sporting novel, especially concerned with hunting and racing, and principally set in New Zealand.
