6 x 8 in. Brown morocco spine strip with blue paper boards. Spine has elaborate gilt decorations. Title pg is hand-colored, and there are 3 colored plates, the other pgs are blank for autographs and poems, etc. This album has about 5 pgs with poems or prose written in, one of them has a charming drawing in sepia ink of an American eagle holding a banner that reads "To Ann by William." The hand-colored floral plates are beautifully colored. Each has a tissue guard. Condition is VERY GOOD ; inner binding is pulled a bit but holding. Spine leather worn at edges but not cracked. Covers have surface wear and wear to corners. Text overall has some very mild foxing. J. C. Riker's address at Fulton St. is stated on the title pg, with a date of 1841 in tiny text below. Art/Rare.
