Mixed edition, with engraved frontispiece dated 1811 and other plates variously dated 1812 and 1815. 8vo (8.75 x 5.5 ins) pp 560. Engraved frontispiece with heading "The Female Instructor", embrowned, and eight further full page illustrations. Contemporary calf side, well rubbed, with later spine added in sympathetic restoration with dark red title label. Tp rather foxed and creased, gutters cracked, edges of boards worn in places.
