A faded gold cloth, coloured hardback book, with gilt designs and titles both on the front board and spine. Gorgeous cast metal relief of St. Botolph Church, after F.B. Schell's engraving, inserted and set in the middle of the front board. No Jacket. This book is the St. Botolph Edition. Published in 1886. The book is in reasonably good condition considering its age, normal wear, marks and tear apply consistent with use and age. Some small wear to the corners of the boards and base of spine. Nice gilt edging to all papers. Pen and ink inscription on inside of first blank page. Image of the author on the back the second page along with a facsimile of her signature below her picture. 59 pages all intact and all pages, text and lovely illustrations are in very good, clean, readable order on very good thick paper. The full-page illustrations are designed by Miss C. A. Northam and J. Francis Murphy; the titlepage, and those in the text, by Edmund H. Garrett. The book is prepared, and the illustrations engraved by Geo. T. Andrew. A truly lovely book that deserves to be preserved for future generations. Seller Inventory # 1428
