About this Item
This 4.875 x 7.25 inch, 32 page softcover book is the stated fourth printing of the first edition from 1934 as indicated on the front cover. This copy is in at least very good condition with just a touch of corner- and edge-wear showing to the soft blue card-stock covers - - with black titling and information. The covers are still securely stapled to the text and the covers show a price of 10 cents in both printed and a 10 cent symbol stamped at the top of the cover. This title is one of a number of issues from the American Press - - with the other publications shown on the back panel of the cover. This title shows an interesting and intriguing look to this then-popular subject - - with the opening two sentences reading - ?Eugenics is one of our contemporary fads. It aims to rid the world of insanity and disease and crime and poverty and to give us a physically better race.? The booklet goes on to examine the roles of Christianity and the governing state in considering and implementing the practice of eugenics - - with considerable emphasis given to sexual practice, especially by the Catholic Church and birth control, with one chapter reading ?The Catholic Church and the Sex Problem.? 32 pages.
