Book of Japanese prints by German art historian. Decorative maroon cloth boards with pictorial gilt design - see image. Scuffed in places; esp. rear board. Spine (gilt titles, too) is quite faded with slight damage at head and tail. TEG. The binding remains tight. Fore and bottom edges are uncut. Tanning is quite advanced throughout (at page perimeters) & with occasional spotting too - esp. on the preliminary and final pages. 64 plates: mainly b/w but some in colour; many of them whole page. In French. pp. vii, 272/8vo (super octavo).
