A small (7X5 inch) volume of Emerson's essays. Published in 1184, a former owner's name and date of 1901 is penciled on the inside of the front board. Slight wear shows on the top of the spine. Shelf wear shows on the bottom of spine. However, the hinges are tight; the book is square and the book is in very good condition. Pages are all complete and tight within the spine. Several passages are in penciled in parentheses for emphasis. Slight sunning shows on back free page and a message from the original owner tells readers that he read it "with intense pleasure". The inscription is then dated June, 1981 Ships media mail. Proceeds benefit adult literacy. Seller Inventory # 000033
