Cracked upper and lower front spine edges. Tightly bound with clean intact endpapers and firm hinges. Lightly toned unmarked pages. DJ Condition: No DJ Pages xxvi, 425. Size: 17.5cm by 11cm. PROVENANCE: Presentation Plate: R.H. Tawney. This book may possibly related to R. H. Tawney (1880-1962) English economic historian, social critic, ethical socialist, Christian socialist, and important proponent of adult education. This book was acquired from the estate of John Papworth (vicar and activist) who developed a close relationship with R. H. Tawney as members of the Labour Party.
