About this Item
[Original Etching]. Erich Wolfsfeld (German, 1884 - 1956). Printed on wove paper as commissioned and published by "Vervielfaltigende Kunst" in 1914. Unsigned, bearing the publisher s title at the bottom margin. Sheet size approx: 15 x 11 inches; plate size: 12.5 x 10.25 inches. "Japanerin" depicts a Japanese lady standing with bowing head. Wolfsfeld was an accomplished etcher, painter and teacher; in 1920 he was appointed professor of painting and etching at Berlin Academy. This post he held until 1935, when Nazi pressure forced him out. Very good condition with strong impression of plate into paper, loose and unmatted. Seller Inventory # 006012
